In memoriam Sara Santoro

The announcement of Sara Santoro sudden death on September 22, stroke us all in our image of her as an active, engaged women, always smiling and rigorous. She was a scholar of international stature, a convinced pro-European, widely committed in the European issues. She also was a peerless teacher, at the university as on the field, while she never forgot the importance of dissemination, addressing to any audience.

Projects on many fronts, even on the long-term, had brought her from Pompeii To Bliesbruck, but she also had an Adriatic vocation, consolidated over a long time, flourished in Friuli at Castelraimondo, continued in Albania and finally marked by her enthusiastic adhesion to AdriAtlas. We won't forget that she was responsible of the signature of the first agreement among the Italian universities partners, the Ecole Française de Rome and the Institut Ausonius at Université Bordeaux Montaigne. Always thanks to her initiative our first meeting was organized in Chieti, at Università Gabriele D'Annunzio, on April 21 and 22, 2015, where we could appreciate her generous hospitality, surrounded by her team.

We honour her memory, continuing the work we had started together around the Adratic Sea.

In the name of the Adriatic teams
